Budget friendly travel to the Philippines

Tips for a budget friendly travel to the Philippines

One of the best destination in Southeast Asia is the Philippines, first and foremost because of its diverse attractions to explore. The locals understand and speak  English and people are courteous and honest. It is also a  haven for both backpackers and group tours because expenses are very affordable. But if you are on a tight budget or just want to maximize your hard earned peso or dollar, here is a few tips to consider on how to go on a budget trip to the Philippines.

1. Book early

As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. There are airline companies in the Philippines that offer great discounts on airfare. If you're coming from any local airport and traveling to a local destination, you can get a one way ticket for as low as Php1.00, yes you read it right, Php1.00 plus taxes and other surcharges of course but it will only cost you around Php200.00, a good deal huh! Just be on the lookout for these promos, travel period is usually 4 or 5 months after  you bought the Php 1.00 airfare. There are also discounted rates if traveling from the Philippines to foreign destination. Check out these airlines' website for more information

2. Travel during off peak season and avoid festivals

To escape the hustle and bustle of the city and  unwind, some travelers prefer a peaceful and relaxing vacation, so to do these things, you may want to consider travelling during off peak season. It is also during this time you can get a great deal on hotel accomodations and tour packages. Traffic is also a problem during festival season. You don't want to waste your precious time stuck up in traffic. You also wont enjoy the beauty of the place if it's too overcrowded. You can just come back anytime to enjoy the festivities of one place if the budget fits.

3. Plan your itinerary

List down all the must see places of your destination then group them by  their location. You may want to start first to places near your hotel. Some tourist spots require you to travel 1-2 hrs and you only get to enjoy one place. Maximize your stay, go out  and explore as many places you can without consuming much of your time on the road.

4. Read travel blogs

Do your homework and read budget travel blogs of the places you will visit. This will also manage  you time, money and effort. This is also an informative way to get you around the place you will be in.

Until my next trip, see you on Tara...Let's go!!!
