Going on a road trip to North Luzon, use SCTEX and TPLEX

When going on a road trip to Clark, Subic, Baguio, La Uion and the rest of the northern provinces, the fast and easy way to travel is through SCTEX (Subic, Clark, Tarlac Expressway) and TPLEX (Tarlac, Pangasinan, La Union Expressway). It will save you between 1 to 2 hours of travel time instead of traversing the inner towns of Tarlac and Pangasinan. Last March 2016, the integration of NLEX (North Luzon Expressway) and SCTEX went underway. The toll booths in Dau and Mabalacat were dismantled giving motorists a smoother travel. From the end point of SCTEX which is in Tarlac City, it links to TPLEX. The Phase 3 of TPLEX from Urdaneta, Pangasinan to Rosario, La Union is still under construction so motorists have to exit to Urdaneta and continue on to their destinations. The only downside I see here is there are no gas stations yet along the route of SCTEX and TPLEX unlike in NLEX where there are numerous gas stations and rest stopovers with convenient stores and fastfood restaurants. But there is one gas station being constructed by SEAOIL and hopefully it will open soon for the convenience and comfort of the motorists. For emergency cases, here are the hotline numbers to call, SCTEX (63 920 967-2839 or +6345 459-0522), TPLEX (0917 848 0191 or 0925 505 3055)
