Cagraray Eco Park
Cagraray Eco Park is located in Cagraray Island Bacacay, Albay Philippines. It is approximately one hour away from Legazpi City, the capital of Albay province. Cagraray Island is also home to the world class Misibis Bay resort. There is no public transportation available yet and one must hire the services of a car rental company in Legazpi City. It is a bit pricey because it is not included in the basic city tour package offered by hotels, inns and travel agencies in Legazpi City. We paid Php 3000.00 to the car rental company for the services of a Toyota Innova with driver and our itinerary included Lignon Hill, Albay Parks and Wildlife, Cagraray Eco Park, One Colonial Grill and Albay Pili Nut Factory. You can haggle with the price and you can also suggest which other places you can visit en route to Cagraray Eco Park.
Along the way you can take pictures of Mayon Volcano clear of any obstructions. The road leading to Cagraray Island is well paved although there are portions you have to navigate through sharp curves and uphill and downhill ride but overall the trip was smooth. Entrance fee to Cagraray Eco Park is Php25.00 for adults and Php10.00 for children.
The front line in Cagraray Eco Park is the Amphitheater. We gazed in awe at the sight of the place overlooking the ocean. The place was featured in the hit reality show The Amazing Race Asia and also shown in different tv programs here in the Philippines. It is also a favorite spot for couples for their pre nuptial photos. Further up is the Stella Maris chapel painted in white and with side glass doors. It is ideal for reflection because of its tranquility and there is also the 14 Stations of the Cross lined up the road leading to the chapel.
Other points of interest in Cagraray Eco Park is the hanging bridge which we failed to visit, the zipline and wall climbing however these attractions were not available when we were there. So when you're in Legazpi City, try to visit Cagraray Eco Park and discover the beauty of the place.
