Soar high above and get a 360 degree view of Lantau Island's landmarks with the Ngong Ping Cable car ride. It is definitely an ultimate experience you should not miss when you're in Hongkong. The cable car ride also includes a visit to the Ngong Ping Village, the Tian Tan Buddha, Po Lin Monastery and the Wisdom Path.

The Ngong Ping 360 is a 5.7 kilometer cable car journey from Lantau's Tung Chung Station to Ngong Ping. It boasts of scenic views of  Hong Kong International Airport as well as mountain slopes and  ocean views. It also has a crystal cabin where you can see the view underneath your feet. Approximate  travel time is 25 minutes for each way.

How to get to Ngong Ping 360

The Ngong Ping 360 cable car is accessible by all modes of transportation but the fastest way is by train. Whether you're coming from Hongkong Island side or the Kowloon side, you have to take the Tung Chung Line or the orange line of the MTR that goes to Tung Chung Station. Once outside the station, you will pass by Citygate outlet mall and straight ahead will be the cable car terminal. You can check out the link below for MTR trip planner and fares.

Where to buy tickets for Ngong Ping 360

You can buy your tickets online through their website or Klook and at the ticketing offices at Tung Chung and Ngong Ping Cable Car terminals.
If you decide to buy your tickets at the counter, just be prepared for the long queue ahead. You may be waiting for as long as 30 minutes to 1 hour.
I highly recommend getting your tickets from Klook. They offer discounted ticket prices and a hassle free booking. There is also a separate lane for Klook customers. Just save the voucher on your mobile phone or print a copy and proceed to the designated VIP Klook counter to get your tickets.

The Klook VIP counter is on the right, the queue on the Klook lane is much shorter compared to the regular ticketing counters.

Wisdom Path

The Wisdom Path is a 10-15 minutes walk that will lead you to a place where 38 wooden inscribed monuments are lined up in a distinctive manner. It also has an amazing view of the sea.

We skipped both the Po Lin Monastery and Wisdom Path because our son got tired from the walking and climbing up to the Big Buddha.
