Here are five transcription websites you can do as side hustle to earn extra income from anywhere. These sites offer transcriber, proofreader, quality control and closed-captioning jobs among others and pays from $15 to $45 per audio hour. No prior work experience is needed and training is provided. I personally tried these sites and here is my feedback.
Even before COVID-19 pandemic hit us, people already discovered working remotely as a means of earning money and a way to get out of their 9-5 office jobs. I actually wrote a blog in 2019 about "The Laptop Lifestyle" where a freelancer can work anytime and anywhere, and at the same time have fun.
So here are the five transcription sites where I've worked or still working for that much needed extra income.
Verbit.ai
Verbit.ai is a company that specializes in providing AI-powered transcription and captioning services for various industries. Verbit.ai's transcription and captioning services are used by educational institutions, media companies, legal firms, and other organizations that require accurate and efficient transcription and captioning.
I've been working full time with Verbit.ai since 2020 and I get my earnings through Paypal. The payment schedule is every 5th and 20th of each month. My earnings per month ranges from $800 to $1,200. I can therefore say that Verbit is a great source of income and it helps me cover my bills and expenses.

TranscribeMe
TranscribeMe is a company that provides online transcription services using a combination of human transcriptionists and artificial intelligence technology. They offer a range of transcription services including audio and video transcription, as well as specialized services for industries such as legal and medical.
TranscribeMe's technology allows clients to upload their audio or video files to the platform, where they are then transcribed by a combination of human transcriptionists and automated speech recognition technology. This hybrid approach is designed to provide accurate transcriptions quickly and at an affordable price.
Before you can work for TranscribeMe, you must pass their guidelines examinations (13 items) and audio examinations (3 parts). Copying and pasting of audio text to the platform is strictly prohibited and can get your account suspended.

QA World
QA World's main focus is to transcribe phone calls between an agent and a customer. A freelancer will only transcribe part of the conversation under time limit afterwards your work will be QA'd. Payments will be credited to your Paypal account on a weekly basis.
I joined QA World in 2021, but discontinued working with them because files ran out quickly. You need to have fast fingers to click on the files as soon as it comes out. And also it's a bit time consuming to earn a few extra bucks. Seasoned transcribers gets a bonus if they're on the top 5 of the weekly output.
Transcription Hub
Transcription Hub is a transcription service to convert audio/video interviews, seminars, podcast, lectures etc into easily readable text. All transcription projects are handled by professional human transcribers. Transcription Hub specializes in academic, legal, healthcare, media, government, business and more.
I just recently joined Transcription Hub and the application process was smooth. Before you can start transcribing with them, you still have to complete an evaluation process where they will assign a file for you to work on. Depending on your accuracy in transcribing and proficiency in the guidelines, Transcription Hub has the right to turn down a freelancer.
TranscriptionStaff
TranscriptionStaff boasts of $26.50/audio hour, work from home setup, flexible working hours, weekly payouts, and ability to choose which files to work on. Payments go through your Paypal account under the sender's name Evolution which is based in Hong Kong.
I joined TranscriptionStaff in 2021 when my other transcription side hustle became idle.I found TranscriptionStaff to be a good source of revenue if you do it full time. There are plenty of files to work on and will be forwarded to your email address on a daily basis if you choose to be notified. Before you can work on a file, you have the option to hear the audio and if you're not comfortable with the file, you can choose another one.
