Cebu City and Mactan Island Travel Guide, Tara...Let's go...
We traveled to Cebu City way back October 2012, it was more than 3 years now but let me share our amazing moments in the Queen City of the South. We flew to this city via Zest Air (now they're called Air Asia) on a mid morning flight and arrived before noon. We rode a yellow airport cab that took us to Tune Hotel (new name is Red Planet) which is in the heart of the city. After checking in, we had our lunch at the nearby Ayala Center. Our itineraries for the day include a stopover at Magellan's Cross, a visit to the Basilica Minore del Sto Nino, Fort San Pedro and the Crowne Regency Hotel to try one of their Sky Experience Adventure tour.
Magellan's Cross - a blast from the past
From Magellan's Cross, you can walk towards Basilica Minore Del Sto Nino and wave to the statue of the Holy Child as you pass by the entrance of the church.

A few meters away from the Basilica is Fort San Pedro, it is a military facility built by a Spanish navigator, Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and who is also the first governor of the Philippines under Spanish era.

Next stop is Crown Regency Hotel in Juan Luna St. to try their sky adventure tours on the 35th-38th floor of the hotel. All four of us decided to take the Skywalk Adventure with buffet dinner afterwards.

Sky Experience Adventure tours have their own photographers to take souvenir pictures which you just have to pay later

We started our day 2 in Cebu city going to the Taoist Temple. We hailed a cab from Ayala Center and it took us 45 minutes to reach the place. Since the temple is located inside a private subdivision and rarely you will find a cab, tell the cab driver to wait for you while you tour the place. Our taxi fare is Php 250.00 to the temple and back to the hotel.
And after the tour @ Taoist temple, we headed back to Tune Hotel and checked out. We rode a cab that took us to Mactan Island, the starting point if you want to go island hopping. Unfortunately the weather was not good so we only had Sutukil and Lapu Lapu monument to visit.

Except for the flight back to Manila where we have a bumpy ride because of a typhoon., the whole experience we had in Cebu City was pleasant. The food is great, people are friendly, the historical landmarks are amazing and the city is peaceful, no wonder a lot of people wanted to go to Cebu City.
And since this trip was paid for by my sister who was here for a brief vacation, I cannot provide the details of our expenses. Until my next trip, see you on Tara...Let's go...!!!
